The Asay Family Goes to Florida

The kids Christmas present this year was a trip to Florida over Spring Break. We went to Disney World for one day, Universal Studios two days which included Islands of Adventure and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and a day at the Clearwater Aquarium to see the Winter the Dolphin and the beach.

Playing in the pool our first night in Florida.  I think this was Ben's first time in a pool!

Pi Day 3.14

March 14th - Today is pi day (3.14) so I made apple pie. Yesterday was Ben's 15 month Birthday already. Brig is gone for the week on the East Coast doing a press tour for his product that is being released next month called Q-Rex.  At least he is in the country! It is mid-March and the weather is amazing! The kids wore shorts to school and they have played in the backyard all afternoon.  Sure, it could snow tomorrow but that is why I love living in Colorado

Playing on the trampoline

I love how they are both watching Natalie

Madeline is such a great big sister!

Peek-a-boo

Looking at the girls playing in the garden. I love those eyes!
Natalie's shirt says, "I love being me!" That sums up Natalie right there!  She lives a happy little life!

I love that smile!

March Madness

We had a crazy busy weekend. Friday night was Natalie's friend birthday party. We just had a small party with 3 of Natalie's friends and took them to see the Lorax and then get an Orange Julius.

Saturday morning Brig had meetings for Church with Elaine Dalton and I went to Zumba. We met back at the house for a few minutes and Zach and Brig headed to baseball practice and Madeline and I went to set up for her gymnastics tournament. After practie, Brig and Natalie met us at Gymnastics but them left because we scheduled Zach's party for Saturday night thinking that the gymnastics tournament would be over by 5 or so.
Thursday we found out that Madeline's last event was at 7 and I was helping with awards which meant that it would be at least 8 before we got
home so we called in reinforcements and Aunt Kristi came to help with Natalie and Ben and getting everyone where they needed to be. Brig took charge of the party and hung out with 6 of friends and took them to the movie and got pizza.

Meanwhile, Madeline were I at the tournament.  Madeline took 1st on Tumbling, 4th onTrampoline and 8th on Double Mini.  Poor Maddi fell on her landing of her 2nd pass.  I am so proud of Maddi not letting the fall effect her.  She came back and did the best that she has ever done on Tumbling.  Kristi bought the kids so they could see Maddi get her first place award.

Almost 9 hours after arriving at the gym later we finished the tournament and I learned a lot about scoring and gymnastics and Madeline mobilized in tumbling and is ready for the state tournament in April.

little Ben woke up in the middle of the night with a deep cough and was up on and off all night.  I got him to sleep next to me for a while but he was breathing so heavy I just felt so bad for him.  I have never had a child get croup before but I am alwasy worried about that when the babies cough.  Brig came home from church and took Ben to the Dr for me before he left for the airport.  Ben does not have croup but we will see how this week goes.  Brig then headed out for his press tour in Boston, New York and Florida.  After this trip, it will almost be time for our family trip to  Florida!

Dance

Natalie took a break from gymnastics and started Dance class with her friend in December. They do a little of ballet, tap and jazz. Natalie loves dance class and will have a recital this year. I thought I would take a few picture while I watching. She is such a cute little dancer!

Lord of the Dance

A couple weeks ago, we went to see Lord of the Dance.  They say a picture is worth a thousand words...

Birthdays

Yes, it is official...we have a teenager. Zachary turned 13 on Sunday. It just doesn't seem like that long ago Zach that was born during a snow storm in Laramie. Time has gone by so quickly. Sunday after church, we met Brig's family in Denver for dinner and joint party for Zach and Natalie. The kids always have fun with their cousins and they always love birthday cake and opening presents. We came home and Zach opened the rest of his family presents which all included baseball in some way. (Yep, Baseball season has started) poor Zach, I made him put on all the new baseball stuff for some pictures.  Zach will have a party with his friends Saturday night and they are all going to a movie.

Today Natalie turned 6 and enjoyed every moment of her day.  We had just moved to Colorado 6 weeks before Natalie was born.  Madeline was telling Natalie today that she remembers being in the car with Grandma and Granda Asay and on the way to pick Zach up from school when Brig called and said she had a little sister. She said she was so excited to have a sister.

Natalie started her birthday at some point very very early this morning. She came in and woke me up and all I know is that it was still dark and Natalie was dressed in her special birthday dress and birthday crown all ready for school. Natalie wore her birthday crown all day! Oh to be in Kindergarten and be able to wear a crown and show everyone just how special you are. Ben took an long nap so Brig took treats into Natalie's class in the afternoon (yes, the crown was still on). Natalie had a playdate with a friend after school and then we had her birthday dinner, cake and opened presents.

Tomorrow, Natalie and a few friends are going to go see the new Dr. Seues Movie the Lorax for her little party.  Next up... Brig's Birthday the big 37!

A big day

Ben learned how to go  down the stairs.  Not that he is interested in going down; he is quite focused on going up the stairs.  Any chance he gets to get past the baby gates he heads for the stairs. He was quite pleased with himself and we all sat on the stairs and cheered him on :)

Piano Recital

This year the piano teacher moved the recital to March instead of May since may is sooo crazy!  It worked out great.  Zach played Fur Elise and his origional song and Maddi play The Lion Sleeps Tonight,La Donna E Mobile, and her origional song.  They both did great and I love listening to them play.  Ben didn't really love listening to the recital and spent most of the time in the hall.  Brig's parents came down for the recital which was so nice and we all went out to dinner for Zach's birthday afterwards,
