Go Cougars!

Taking it all in

Playing Catcher
Today Zach played his first Highschool league baseball game! He made the Coronado Freshman team (even though he is going into 8th grade) and he was soooo excited. He played a doulble header against Widefield tonight. Although they didn't win, Zach went 3 for 3 with two hits and a walk and an RBI. Zach played catcher the whole first game and 2nd base the entire 2nd game. The poor kid had a cold but fought through it. My pictures didn't turn out great so I will get more especially one of the back of his Jersey that says Cougars!

Cheering for Zach

The Asay Family Goes Camping

Yes, it is true. After an 11 year hiatus we went on a family camping trip to Lake Navajo. Brig and Zach have both been camping with scouts, and we have stayed in cabins but we have not gone as a family and slept in a tent since Zach was 2 years old and I was 8 months pregnant with Madeline. So, we thought we would give it a try. It turns out that a family of 6 requires a lot of stuff for only 2 days. It also turns out that we do not fit in the same tent that we took 11 years ago. We learned that we like camping with friends and we like boats. Our friends have a boat and we all tried water skiing. Madeline got up on her first try and did great. Zach got up for a little bit and then tried wake boarding. Natalie kind of wanted to try water skiing but ended up loving tubing. She had the biggest smile that I have ever seen! Brig has water skied a couple times but he learned that waving does not signal that he is done, it just means that we will all wave back at him. I was so nervous to try water skiing but I tried! We learned that sleeping with Ben in a tent is miserable but it was worth it to watch him play in the dirt :) We had a great trip and we want to go again (just as soon as we get a bigger tent and an air mattress).
